Who are we?
Halal Occasions is a unique event directory service for Muslims in the UK, setting out to make event-planning easy! Our 20 event-related categories have been especially thought-out to enable us to cater for ALL types of events in the Muslim community, small and large, Eid party or Islamic course, hiking fundraiser or concert; whatever the requirement, by the will of Allah, we will endeavour to meet it!
What is the vision behind Halal Occasions?
Halal Occasions has been designed with the Muslim community in mind, offering choice compatible with religion. Our listings are set out uniquely, making it easier to find for example, venues which allow for segregated seating, and those which are alcohol-free. We have also set ourselves the goal of increasing access to hard-to-find services such as daff (Islamic drum) groups, nasheed artists and Islamic speakers!
We hope that Halal Occasions will encourage Muslim event-planning, particularly dawah events, charitable fundraisers, islamic seminars and other similar organisations, for which we endeavour to relieve a large bulk of the stresses involved in planning.
Services and aspirations
Halal Occasions stands alone with the following (non-exhaustive) combination of services and aspirations:
- Detailed directory entries geared to meeting Muslim requirements (e.g. specifying halal certification of caterers and availability of segregated and/or prayer facilities of venues)
- Carefully chosen categories avoiding services and products which are religiously doubtful (e.g. Instrumental entertainment/Music)
- Authentication of some services e.g. checking registration of child care providers, catering HMC claims etc.
- Access to imams and speakers, enabling Muslims to forward invitations for their events
- Articles, providing information (for example) on the types of events and how to plan events according to the sunnah, as well as how to make an event successful
- E-newsletter, keeping Muslims up-to-date with events listings, current issues and hot topics
- Event promotion COMMING SOON InsAllah! To professionally promote Muslim events
- Community portal COMMING SOON InsAllah! Encouraging sharing of event ideas, the dos and donts, including communication with event professionals for specific queries and advice
